Star Struck By John Mayer

John Mayer began his life humbly in Connecticut, but his musical dream drove him to become a huge national and international success. Mayer’s first album, Room For Squares put him in public view. Commercially a success, his first album led him to an actual record deal where he is still producing today.

Mayer originally began his career with an acoustic pop style, and eventually transformed into a blues/pop fusion artist. Mayer was inspired by big names in blues like Eric Clapton. Mayer is also involved in a blues trio rock band which began in 2005 and includes Steve Jordan, and Pino Palladino.

Mayer’s second album, Heavier Things, garnered positive reviews, but it did not sell as much as Room for Squares. This second album also contained his first number 1 hit, Daughters, as well as responsible for winning him a 2005 Grammy Award for best song of the year. When he received the Grammy, Mayer was competing with big, established names in the music industry, Alicia Keys and Kanye West. Interestingly, in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Mayer said that he believed that Alicia Keys deserved the Grammy more than he did because her song was better. He ended up splitting his Grammy award in two and gave Keys the top half as a sign of respect and camaraderie. As his popularity has grown, the availability of John Mayer tickets to live concerts has become harder to come by.

John Mayer tickets for the 2014 tour are currently available, but will not be around for long. As his popularity has increased, most, if not all of his shows have sold out very quickly. You can check Warehouse Tickets for any remaining tickets.
