The Vancouver Queer Film Festival presents Celebrate Queer Vancouver. Running July 21 to August 21, this month-long multifaceted celebration showcases film, visual art, community dialogue and – at the centre of it all – a public art installation to engage and celebrate the dynamic experiences and achievements of Vancouver’s queer communities.
Celebrate Queer Vancouver culminates with the 23rd Annual Vancouver Queer Film Festival.
The largest queer arts event in Western Canada is coming to Vancouver this August. The Vancouver Queer Film Festival (Aug. 11-21) draws more than 13,000 attendees for 11 full days of cutting-edge cinema that showcases the best queer films from Canada and around the world.
This year’s film fest coincides with a celebration of queer art and lifestyles in the city. The month-long (July 21-Aug. 21) Celebrate Queer Vancouver events includes community dialogues, a live auction and some very unique street art. Photos featuring queer families will be installed on city lampposts, and special guided tours will delve deep into the city’s LGBT history.
